John and I attended a memorable High Priest Prime Rib Dinner Friday evening at the Stake Center. We listened to a senior couple who had served their mission in Ohio doing genealogy for the Underground Railroad. The Underground Railroad was an informal network of secret routes and safe houses used by 19th-century black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada. It was fascinating to hear about the miracles, the service and the sacrifice of so many, both black and white, in freeing these people. It was quite inspiring.
